Five international healthtech startups have made it to the final phase of DayOne Health 4.0. With this accelerator, DayOne, the initiative of Basel Area Business & Innovation, aims to promote solutions that focus on artificial intelligence, data and clinical development.

The selection committee has chosen five healthtech startups for the second and final phase of the six-month DayOne Health 4.0 accelerator programme: Briya from Israel, CliniNote from Poland, FindMeCure from Bulgaria, InSilicoTrials Technologies from Italy and machineMD from Switzerland. DayOne is an initiative of Basel Area Business & Innovation, the investment and innovation promotion agency. It is doing pioneering work for the future of healthcare.

The thematic focus of this edition of the accelerator, which began in September 2023 and ends in March 2024, is artificial intelligence (AI), data and digitally improved clinical development. It received a total of 109 applications from 35 countries. Fifteen of the applications had passed Phase 1 by mid-November. According to the jury, the five projects that have now been selected offer a strong value proposition, made significant progress in phase 1 of the programme, and are ready to engage in collaborations, particularly with biopharmaceutical companies.

During the final gala held on December 7, 2023, at the Museum of Polish Jews, the winners of the competition organized by the Mother and Child Health Institute - Mother and Child Startup Challenge were announced. Among the awarded startups was CliniNote.

"On behalf of the entire CliniNote team, we sincerely thank the competition jury for this recognition. Being among such a select group is an acknowledgment of what we do every day, and most importantly, supporting healthcare - assisting doctors in their daily work and patients. Thank you for this solid dose of motivation; it will allow us to develop CliniNote technology even more intensively," said Bogdan Marszałek, Product Owner of CliniNote, who represented our team during the event.

The Mother and Child Startup Challenge is the first project of its kind on a Polish scale and one of the few in Europe bringing together state medical entities for a common purpose – harnessing the potential of medical technology and innovations aimed at health and life protection. The initiator of the competition is the Mother and Child Institute. Representatives of leading institutions in healthcare, medical universities, and technological fields sit on the Program Board and the Competition Jury.

Last week we proudly participated in the annual Connect to Win meeting in Madrid. As a key contributor to the DigiOne international project led by the Digital Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research, we engaged in discussions on leveraging technology to support Research and Development (R&D) initiatives in the field of oncology.

Our Chief Technology Officer, Jan Poleszczuk, took the stage with vigor to present the groundbreaking topic, "AI-Augmented Virtual Assistant for Better Data Capture." Jan's central message resonated deeply: "Medical staff's time is particularly valuable. Our mission is to solve the long-standing dilemma of the need to gather an increasing amount of data while striving to free up time for healthcare professionals and medical staff to work with patients. Today we can prove it with results of projects delivered. We are convinced that our solution will also contribute to solving the problem of interoperability, which means connecting data from various healthcare providers regardless of languages and infrastructure challenges, thus speeding up research in medicine, which is a goal of the DigiOne project."

Partnership with IQVIA

In line with the objectives of the DigiOne project, we are thrilled to announce a strategic partnership between IQVIA and CliniNote in the realm of data collection products. The collaboration involves integrating IQVIA's Natural Language Processing (NLP) software, designed to facilitate retrospective medical record data, with CliniNote's solution supporting prospective clinical data collection.

The integration of IQVIA's NLP software with CliniNote's platform is poised to revolutionize the way healthcare professionals and the pharmaceutical industry work with clinical data. By co-developing these solutions, we aim to not only streamline data collection processes but also enhance the quality and availability of data for medical research.

🎙Our CEO Rafal Szmuc presented the CliniNote ecosystem and how it changes the way we work with healthcare data during the conference Venture Network Day @Warsaw Stock Exchange - a conference that puts emphasis on synergy between the electronic stock exchange ecosystem and selected startups. GPW Venture Network Day is a space for exchanging ideas and experience with leading specialists in the field, technology and innovation.
